LUGA Luxembourg (City), 2025
May 7-October 18, 2025
Die launische Forelle is part of LUGA (Luxembourg Urban Garden), Luxembourg's first national garden show. It is one of ten artistic works and
will be on display in Luxembourg City from May 7 to October 18.
Curator: Boris Kremer
In "Die launische Forelle", whose title refers to a song by Franz Schubert, curiosity is initially piqued by a wooden hut without windows or doors, from which soft music plays. Through the cracks between the boards, one can glimpse the interior of the hut, which houses a table, a chair, a mattress, a piano, and numerous stuffed animals.
In this slightly eerie space, where time seems to stand still, the piano keys come to life at irregular intervals, playing animal melodies. In contrast to romantic notions of self-sufficiency and reconnection with nature, this hut plays with the darker undertones of social isolation and our unclear relationship with animals.
