Peter Prendergast

Gallery Management & Development

Peter is an artist, arts manager and designer based in Dublin, Ireland. He has directorship, curatorial, marketing, production and financial management experience. He graduated with an M.Phil in Art History from Trinity College Dublin and a Degree in Graphic Design from IADT. He was co-founder and director of the Monster Truck Gallery & Studios, a Dublin-based gallery and studio that produced exhibitions, events and facilitated numerous artists at its studio facility. The organisation expedited new works by Irish and international artists during these periods. He was interim Head of Audiences and Development at the Irish Museum of Modern Art; sitting within an 8 person senior management team. He is a Leonardo member of Science Gallery Dublin, advises on acquisition and gallery management for organisations such as Trinity College Dublin, the Office of Public Works and the kevin kavanagh Gallery. He published a book on artist residencies and public sculpture, titled 'Declarations of Abstraction, Welded Abstract Sculpture, Ireland, 1970s and 1980s' in 2015 and has written on visual art for various publications, including Totally Dublin and Irish Art Review.
